Khadi blanket in recycled wool, No.11
Product: hand-woven "up-cycled" wool blanket. These woollen yarns come from surplus raw materials from workshops and factories that make textile products. The threads are gathered and rolled into balls of wool which are then woven by traditional craftswomen. The traditional process is sustainable, and the use of surplus wool makes it even more environmentally friendly.
Colour: oatmeal, pink, blue, red.
The feel: very warm rustic blanket with a heavy touch. A fabulous product for a textile lover who will appreciate the texture of the hand-woven yarns and the beautiful mix of tones and colours.
Artisans: made in northern India, near Jaipur, by traditional artisan families who weave to supplement other seasonal sources of income such as farming. Working with hand-woven textiles enables the craftsmen to work from their homes or nearby, while preserving a precious craft heritage.
The designs are an evolution of traditional and contemporary styles, with the artisans having researched weaving styles from around the world to incorporate into their work.
In detail: Hand-woven wool plaid, 140 x 225 cm .
In theory, the product is 100% wool, but small amounts of other fibres may also be present in the yarns due to the way the wool is recycled and obtained. Our producer guarantees a pure wool content of at least 90%. The aim of this product is to reuse surplus yarn from the textile industry.
