Maker: Heartworks was founded by Margaret Woermann in Cape Town in 2005, as a springboard for a group of marginalized women living with HIV, trained through an embroidery workshop. United by their talent in the Forward group, these women, from South Africa, the Congo and Zambia, are true artists. Each of their pieces is a unique collector's item, worthy of "haute couture" creations. Heartworks now involves more than 60 women, allowing them to earn decent incomes and gain the confidence to move forward.
