Product: this exquisite contemporary embroidery is handmade by a community of Mochi women in northern India. Each piece is completely unique. The patterns, colors and composition are entirely the artisan's own creation, and we choose the most beautiful pieces for our customers around the world.

These textiles look wonderful as bedspreads for a single or double bed. They can be used as wall hangings, throws or even curtains to add a touch of color and something a little bohemian to your decor.

Maker: the Mochis are a large caste of artisans in India, originally specialized in making saddles and leather goods. Over the last 350 years, they have become renowned embroiderers across the subcontinent. Traditionally, the men work the leather, and the women decorate it.

The Mochis are famous for their exquisite chain-stitch embroidery, done with a fine needle fitted with a wooden handle that has a small notch just above the tip, forming a hook and creating very fine loops.

Care Dry clean only. We are not fans of dry cleaning, but these pieces are too delicate to wash. The embroidery on the cotton is heavy and could be damaged by washing.
