Product: this exquisite contemporary embroidery is made by hand by a community of Mochi women in northern India. Each piece is completely unique. The patterns and composition are entirely the artisan's creation, and we choose the most beautiful pieces for our customers around the world.

These textiles look magnificent as bedspreads for a single or double bed. They can be used as wall hangings, throws or even curtains, to add texture and something a little bohemian to your decor.

Maker: the Mochis are a large caste of artisans in India, originally specialized in making saddles and leatherwork. Over the last 350 years they have become renowned embroiderers across the subcontinent. Traditionally, the men work the leather and the women decorate it.

The Mochis are famous for their exquisite chain stitch embroidery, done with a fine needle set in a wooden handle with a small notch just above the point, which forms a hook and creates very fine loops.

Size 150 x 230 cm

Material Black cotton embroidered on ecru cotton.

Care Dry clean only. We are not fans of dry cleaning, but these pieces are too delicate to wash. The embroidery on the cotton is heavy and could be damaged by washing.
