Khadi blanket, handwoven in recycled wool No.16
Product: handwoven blanket in "up-cycled" wool. These wool yarns come from surplus raw materials from workshops and factories that make wool products. The yarns are gathered and wound into balls of wool, which are then woven by traditional artisans. The traditional process is sustainable and the use of surplus wool makes it even more eco-friendly.
Color: red, blue, beige, gray.
The feel: rustic, very warm blanket with a heavy hand. A fabulous product for a textile lover who will appreciate the texture of the handwoven yarns and the beautiful mix of tones and colors.
Artisans: made in northern India, near Jaipur, by families of traditional artisans who weave to supplement other seasonal sources of income such as farming. Working on handwoven textiles lets the artisans work from home or nearby, while preserving a precious craft heritage.
The patterns are an evolution of the traditional and contemporary styles, with the artisans having researched weaving styles from around the world that they could incorporate into their work.
Details: Handwoven wool throw, 140 x 225 cm.
In theory, the product is 100% wool, but small amounts of other fibers may also be found in the yarns because of the way the wool is recycled and sourced. Our producer guarantees a pure wool content of at least 90%. The purpose of this product is to reuse surplus yarn from the textile industry.
