Artisans: Jelld (leather in Arabic) is a social enterprise founded in Hebron, in the southern West Bank, in 2016 by three university students, who aspired to build an innovative business that would offer economic opportunities to people in need. Having grown up in the city known for its trade and crafts, the three students decided to work with leather and create products that would appeal to their generation.

Jelld strives to reinvigorate Hebron's traditional leather industry through creativity and contemporary designs. Their workshop is in the village of Dura, where young artisans design prototypes and finalize the products for distribution. The hand sewing and assembly work is given to young people, women from disadvantaged families and people with disabilities in the area.

Jelld products are made from top-quality natural leather coming directly from the Zaatari tannery, one of Hebron's artisan families, many generations old. The cowhide comes mainly from the Gaza Strip and the goat leather from farms in the West Bank. The wallets, shoulder bags and laptop cases are especially popular with young people, who appreciate Jelld's elegant design and its Palestinian origin.
