Facteur Céleste

Africa has started a relentless fight against spreading pollution and the ever-growing waste in its cities and countryside. Even the great wild spaces are no longer spared. A new drive is taking shape across the continent, especially in Burkina Faso: people now see the danger this pollution poses to their very survival and, more recently, the economic potential of this waste, thanks to recycling networks starting up almost everywhere.

The Facteur Céleste association crochets every object by hand in Ouagadougou from recycled plastic bags. The project creates jobs for many women in great hardship, promotes their craft skills and carries a strong message about the environment. Facteur Céleste is a wonderful ecological and social initiative that improves the lives of dozens of families while helping to protect the environment. Of course, we share these values at Storie.
