Product : One of a kind, vintage Yoruba Indigo. Handwoven cotton, handmade in Nigeria. Natural indigo dye. 147 x 204 cm
These indigos are handwoven, traditionally by women on a vertical loom for personal use. The resulting textile is used as a garment. These indigos are usually worn by older women in Yoruba society. These garments are found particularly around the town of Idaban in southwestern Nigeria in Oyo State and in the town of Oshogbo in Osun State.
