Why wool? Why pashmina?
Wool is 100% renewable, biodegradable and the most reused and recyclable textile fiber in the world.
Unlike synthetic materials, wool does not add to the growing microplastic pollution in our oceans and on land, which makes it an environmentally friendly choice.
But that is not all. Wool is naturally breathable, regulates temperature and is built to last. It can be repaired and enjoyed for many years.
This pashmina, an exceptional cashmere, comes from the heart of the Himalayas, specifically the Changthang region of Ladakh, home to the Changra goats and their nomadic herders. Living at an altitude of between 4,000 and 7,000 meters above sea level, these goats produce an exceptionally warm cashmere, a soft undercoat hidden beneath their guard hairs. In spring, the herders carefully comb out this fiber to sell it and make luxury products. No animal is harmed in the process.
A Geographical Indication (GI) is a sign used on products that have a specific geographical origin and possess qualities or a reputation due to that origin.
