Description

Product : Elegant, soft, hand-woven cotton Khadi cotton with small fringes.

Khadi is a handspun and handwoven cloth, a technique which creates a fine and soft textile.

Our throws have a gorgeous soft, and heavy texture. They are woven by a community of women in northern India. Perfect for decoration, on a bed or sofa or even as a shawl.

Craft: Khadi is handmade in homes across Indian, using cotton, silk or wool yarn spun on a wheel, or "charkha". It is woven in an environmentally friendly way, using few resources such as water or electricity; it is strong and durable. Khadi is a unique Indian fabric, valued not only because it is handmade, but also for its cultural significance.

This textile tradition was revived by Mahatma Gandhi, who saw the fabric as a tool to bring financial independence to Indians across the countryside who would practice this craft at home. In his own words: “Hand-spinning is designed to put millions of rupees in the hands of the poor villagers.”

"The spinning wheel represents to me the hope of the masses. The masses lost their freedom, such as it was, with the loss of the Charkha. The Charkha supplemented the agriculture of the villagers and gave it dignity. "

Returns Policy

You can return your new purchases within 14 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs, but only if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.). If you have questions about a product before buying, do drop us a line and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

You can expect to receive your refund within two weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, normally the processing time will be quicker. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper, the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it, and for your bank to process our refund request.

If you want to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.

Shipping

We want you to get your order as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to ship your order the next day, but processing orders can take up to 3 days. We’ll let you know as soon as the order is fulfilled.

We can ship to virtually any address in the world. However, there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations due to prohibitively high shipping costs. Do reach out to us if shipping of the objects you love does not include your zone.

When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.

Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full kg.
