Product : Hand embroidered , off white cotton cushion cover 50x50cm
Contemporary Kantha stitching handmade in Bangladesh by a women's cooperative, fair trade.
This untreated raw cotton cushion with multi-coloured kantha stitching (red / turquoise / yellow) is both simple and chic.
Artisans: Our beautiful kantha cushions are handmade by the women of a social enterprise based in Dhaka. Through dignified work, this association provides a sustainable livelihood for hundreds of trafficked women.
The women are given job skills and the opportunity to become leaders and entrepreneurs in a healthy and healing environment. Each woman's story varies, but each has been exposed to high risk of harm or has been exploited.
The organisation is determined to grow for as long as there are women in Bangladesh who need dignified work.

You can expect to receive your refund within two weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, normally the processing time will be quicker. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper, the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it, and for your bank to process our refund request.
If you want to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.
We want you to get your order as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to ship your order the next day, but processing orders can take up to 3 days. We’ll let you know as soon as the order is fulfilled.
We can ship to virtually any address in the world. However, there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations due to prohibitively high shipping costs. Do reach out to us if shipping of the objects you love does not include your zone.
When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.
Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full kg.
There are so many things to consider when putting together a textile collection, especially if you are working to make the products sustainable and ethical. Each fibre needs to be looked at for its values and cost of production, but also the value of the material for our clients - including how that material will age.
Unbleached cotton retains its natural colour, often in shades of cream, beige or with specks of beige colour in it. It is favoured for its minimal processing, the material isn’t exposed to potentially harmful chemicals such as chlorine dioxide, hydrogen peroxide, or optical brighteners, which are commonly used in the bleaching process.
Once the daily chores are done, a different type of work begins. In homes across rural West Bengal, India and neighbouring Bangladesh, women delicately decorate repurposed saris with a simple running stitch, a technique and textile known as Kantha; transforming each piece of used fabric into a piece of art, and a piece of craft heritage.
