3 layers of cotton are hand quilted using the traditional kantha stich in sky blue and dark blue. Very soft and strong.
Hand made by a women lead social enterprise in Bangladesh. Each blanket is signed by the crafts person who made it.
Artisans : Our beautiful kantha bed covers are handmade in Dhaka, Bangladesh by women working with a social enterprise which protects, educates and trains women who have been victims of human trafficking.
Through dignified work, this organisation provides a sustainable livelihood for hundreds of vulnerable women.
The women are given medical care, job skills and the opportunity to become leaders and entrepreneurs in a healthy and healing environment. Each woman's story varies, but each has been at high risk of harm or has been exploited.
The organisation intend to continue to grow as long as there are women in Bangladesh who need dignified work. The organisation dreams of a day when women will no longer live in fear or be at risk of exploitation.
